Chandler Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Chandler: Candle Calculator (“Chandler” or the “App”), provided by Lavender Ink LLC (“Lavender Ink,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Chandler, you agree to these Terms.
1. APP LICENSE
Chandler is licensed to you, not sold.
Your use of Chandler is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”), available at:
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA regarding your use of an App Store application, the Apple Standard EULA will control to the extent of the conflict.
Subject to these Terms, Lavender Ink LLC grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Chandler on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s applicable usage rules.
2. PURPOSE OF CHANDLER
Chandler provides tools that may help users:
• Calculate candle formulas
• Calculate wax and fragrance quantities
• Scale formulas into production batches
• Save recipes and vessels
• Track cure times
• Record burn tests
• Estimate material costs and batch overhead
• Calculate estimated cost of goods sold
• View pricing references
• Create PDF and CSV records
Chandler’s calculations and outputs depend on the information you enter. Incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable inputs may produce incorrect or unsuitable results.
3. CANDLE-MAKING SAFETY
Chandler is an organizational and calculation tool. It is not a replacement for professional training, supplier instructions, safety testing, or independent judgment.
You are responsible for:
• Confirming all measurements and calculations before production
• Following wax, fragrance, wick, vessel, dye, and additive manufacturer instructions
• Observing supplier fragrance-load limits
• Reviewing applicable safety data sheets
• Testing every candle formulation and vessel combination
• Conducting appropriate burn testing
• Following fire-safety requirements
• Complying with labeling, consumer-product, workplace, shipping, tax, and other applicable laws
• Determining whether a candle is safe and suitable for sale or use
Lavender Ink LLC does not guarantee that a formula, wick, fragrance load, vessel, production method, pricing reference, or other result displayed by Chandler is safe, compliant, profitable, or suitable for your circumstances.
4. BUSINESS AND PRICING INFORMATION
Cost, COGS, wholesale, retail, margin, and other business outputs are estimates based on the information you provide.
They are provided for general informational and organizational purposes only and do not constitute accounting, financial, tax, legal, or business advice.
You are responsible for reviewing your own expenses, taxes, labor, losses, market conditions, fees, and legal obligations before making pricing or business decisions.
5. CHANDLER PRO
Chandler Pro is offered as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a recurring subscription.
Chandler Pro may unlock features including:
• Unlimited saved recipes
• Unlimited saved jars or vessels
• Business and costing tools
• Cure Timers
• Burn Tests
• PDF reports
• CSV exports
Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s payment, billing, refund, family-sharing, and purchase-restoration policies.
Your purchase is associated with the Apple ID used to complete the transaction. Where supported, you may restore an eligible purchase through the Restore Purchases option inside Chandler.
Lavender Ink LLC does not directly process App Store payments or control Apple’s refund decisions.
A one-time purchase does not guarantee that Chandler will remain compatible with every future device, operating-system version, or platform indefinitely.
6. LOCAL DATA AND BACKUPS
Chandler currently stores recipes, jars, timers, burn tests, calculations, costing information, and related records locally on your device.
Chandler does not currently provide a Chandler account or cloud-synchronization service.
You are responsible for:
• Maintaining access to your device
• Protecting your device
• Creating appropriate device backups
• Saving important exported records
• Confirming that exported files were successfully created and stored
Deleting Chandler, resetting your device, losing access to your device, or experiencing device failure may result in the permanent loss of locally stored Chandler information.
Lavender Ink LLC is not responsible for lost, deleted, corrupted, or inaccessible local records except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
7. ACCEPTABLE USE
You may not:
• Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to obtain Chandler’s source code except where applicable law expressly permits it
• Sell, sublicense, rent, distribute, or commercially exploit the App itself
• Circumvent Chandler Pro purchase controls
• Interfere with the App’s operation or security
• Use Chandler for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Misrepresent Chandler’s calculations or content as professional certification or guaranteed safety approval
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Chandler, including its software, interface, branding, graphics, text, design, documentation, and original content, is owned by or licensed to Lavender Ink LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of Chandler or Lavender Ink intellectual property to you.
You retain ownership of the recipes, notes, records, and other original information you enter into Chandler.
9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Chandler may rely on services provided by Apple and RevenueCat for purchases, purchase verification, entitlement management, and related functionality.
Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Lavender Ink LLC is not responsible for interruptions, policy changes, account restrictions, outages, or other actions controlled by third-party providers.
10. APP AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
We may update, modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue Chandler features when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, compatibility, or product development.
We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available in its current form or that Chandler will work with every future operating system or device.
11. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chandler is provided “as is” and “as available.”
Lavender Ink LLC does not guarantee that Chandler will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or suitable for every candle-making, production, business, or legal requirement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded in your jurisdiction.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lavender Ink LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Chandler, including loss of profits, materials, products, business opportunities, recipes, records, or data.
You remain responsible for independently verifying calculations, production decisions, material compatibility, product safety, pricing, and regulatory compliance.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
13. TERMINATION
You may stop using Chandler at any time.
Your license to use Chandler may terminate if you materially violate these Terms or the Apple Standard EULA.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, and liability provisions, will continue to apply.
14. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the Apple Standard EULA or mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under the laws applicable to you.
15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Chandler, applicable law, third-party services, or our business practices.
Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
